Drink of the Month: December's Rye Hot Toddy

Cure what ails you with this cinnamon, clove and spiced apple concoction.

Rye Hot Toddy

Sure, Grandma used to say a Hot Toddy would cure what ails you, but who says you have to be sick to get a little medicine? Davidson Reserve Rye Whiskey’s spicy notes of cinnamon, clove and spiced apple are a natural for this cold weather concoction.

Ingredients:
2 oz Davidson Reserve Rye Whiskey
½ oz lemon juice
1 oz raw local honey
Strip of lemon zest
4-6 whole cloves
Boiling water

Directions:
Pour a few ounces of hot water into your mug to heat it while making the cocktail. Combine the Davidson Reserve, lemon juice and honey with 4-6 ounces of boiling water and stir to combine. Strain into the warmed mug and garnish with clove-studded lemon zest.
