Dustin proposed to Melissa atop the Gullfoss waterfall in Icelandwhich may just be the most romantic engagement ever. When planning their wedding, the couple's priority was finding a venue to accommodate more than 300 of their closest friends and family (from 18 different states, no less). 'Nashville was where we met and spent a large portion of our relationship,” explains Melissa. 'So we decided to make everyone travel to us!”
One of the bride's favorite memories was standing outside of Union Station with her groom before their grand entrance as husband and wife. 'We had a chance to talk about the ceremony and just be us for a few minutes before the craziness began again,” Melissa recalls. 'It was perfect.”
Several special items were incorporated into the couple's wedding day: Melissa wrapped her great-great-grandmother's handkerchief around her bouquet (and placed a dime from her grandfather in her shoe for good luck), and the newlyweds' cake topper was a souvenir from their engagement in Iceland.
'When the day of the wedding comes, let other people
handle the details. Everyone is beyond willing to help,
so let them! It's tough to give up control of every last detail,
but it allows you to actually enjoy the day.”
