Katie met Chris through mutual friends at the end of her sophomore year at Auburn University, and the pair started dating the next fall. Chris surprised Katie when he proposed the day after Valentine’s Day. After the proposal, Chris had the couple’s closest friends and family waiting at Firefly to celebrate.
Katie’s vision for her wedding was casual and elegant, with soft lighting, cozy fireplaces, bistro-style food, fresh floral arrangements, lots of greenery, and great music for dancing. The most important element for the bride and groom was for their guests to have a good time. “As I walked down the aisle,” Katie recalls, “I made a point to look around at everyone, because it was so special that they all were there to support Chris and myself.”
