Farris and Taylor became fast friends after meeting during their sophomore year of college. Their friendship slowly evolved into a more romantic relationship, and by their senior year, the two were dating.
Taylor proposed in Monteagle, Tennessee, at one of the pair’s favorite spots: a cliff top called The Point. Taylor read aloud from a book he wrote that told the story of the couple’s relationship. When he got to the last page, which read “On November 23rd, 2012, Taylor proposed to Farris,” he knelt down in front of her. Both Farris and Taylor’s families were waiting nearby to celebrate the couple’s engagement.
Farris wanted a simple, elegant, and rustic wedding. To other brides-to-be in the wedding planning process, Farris says: “At some point, you have to let go—it will all turn out great! I didn’t even notice some of the things I had been so persistent about because I was too busy being around my new husband, family, and friends.”
