Thank you for inquiring about the internship program with Nashville Lifestyles. We are always on the look out for bright and creative students. Our internships are designed to offer students an opportunity to gain insight into the magazine industry. Interns obtain hands-on experience by working in jobs related to their career fields and by interacting with professionals in on-the-job situations.

Spring Internships — (Mid Jan - Mid April) — Apply by November 30
Summer Internships — (Mid May - Mid August) — Apply by March 25
Fall Internships — (Early September - Mid December) — Apply by July 22
• Students must be able to receive academic credit for the internship from their school
• Prefer students who have reached junior year or higher in their education
• Understanding that all Nashville Lifestyles internships are unpaid
Obtain hands-on experience by working closely with the managing editor, web editor and production/art department and by interacting with professionals in on-the-job situations.
Editorial interns are responsible for tasks such as: researching and organizing. Occasionally, interns are asked to: attend photo shoots; attend off-site events; help out other departments such as production, marketing, and sales.
Interns must have a basic understanding of the AP Stylebook as well as some experience or working knowledge of how to interview, report, and research journalistic stories. Published clips are preferred but not required. An interest in the city of Nashville and an understanding of city and regional magazines are also preferred.

Graphic / Web Design Intern
Obtain print and web experience by working closely and providing assistance to the production/art department.
Graphic/web design interns will be involved in observing the creation of multiple publications (Nashville Lifestyles, Murfreesboro Magazine, Nashville Lifestyles At Home, Nashville Lifestyles Weddings).
Interns must have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (Illustrator a plus). Interns must be on a visual communications track in school (graphics, studio art, photo, video, etc). Students should have an eye for good photography, typography, and basic elements of design. Background in illustrating, ad design, magazine design and/or web design a plus. Students should be friendly, organized detail-oriented and highly professional. Published design work and/or a link to a portfolio site is preferred when applying. Two days per week minimum, more desired if available.

Photography interns will be involved with: photo shoots, photo-editing, and social events.
Interns must have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, must be on a visual communications track in school. Students should be friendly, punctual, organized and highly professional. Published photos and/or a link to a portfolio site is preferred. Student should have their own professional camera. Two days per week minimum, more desired if available. Must have reliable transportation.

• Learning marketing operations, including print media, web-based media, distribution and general sales support
• Learning event marketing campaigns for our signature events
• Inclusion in sponsor meetings/calls for upcoming signature events
• Learning to develop and facilitate marketing campaigns to brand Nashville Lifestyles
• Inclusion in community related events sponsored by Nashville Lifestyles through pre-exposure and on-site branding
• Assist with standard team procedures for event
Interns must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Interns must be on a marketing, business, and/or communications track in school. Students should be friendly, organized detail-oriented and highly professional. Two days per week minimum, more desired if available.
