Volunteers, sponsors and supporters of The Harding Art Show gathered at Nashville's iconic bar and concert venue, 12th & Porter to celebrate in anticipation of the show, which will take place May 5, 6, and 7 at Harding Academy. Co-Chairs Meggin Grobmyer and Mary Glenn Vreeland introduced the show's featured artists for 2016 – Herb Williams, Alex Beard and Adrien Saporiti – who shared details about their work and plans for events and activities to connect with students and visitors during the show.
12th & Porter provided a festive atmosphere, enabling guests to mingle, meet the featured artists, and view some fantastic examples of their art – from whimsical crayon sculptures, a colorful peacock painting in the style of abstract naturalism, and a contemporary painting of bold primary colors. Patrons sipped beverages and enjoyed delicious, small bites of southern fare from 12th & Porter's menu, including BBQ eggrolls, fried pimento mac and cheese with bacon rémoulade and cinnamon sugar-dusted beignets.
