The Nashville Symphony welcomed corporate leaders and longtime supporters for the Schermerhorn Symphony Center 10th Anniversary Gala.
The black-tie event opened with cocktails in the Schermerhorn's main lobby, followed by a three-course dinner in Laura Turner Concert Hall, catered by Kristen Winston. Nashville Symphony president and CEO Alan D. Valentine delivered welcoming remarks while a slide show of photos from the Schermerhorn's first 10 years was shown above the stage.
Following dinner, Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero led the Nashville Symphony in an intimate performance of works by Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, before being joined by Ben Folds, who performed his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra a Nashville Symphony co-commission that recently topped the Billboard classical charts as well as selections from his catalog.
Joelle Phillips, President of AT&T, and Carol Yochem, President of First Tennessee Bank, served as co-chairs of the event. Julie Boehm and Ellen Martin served as Honorary Chairmen. Flowers were provided by Rebel Hill Florist.
