Over 300 guests were present at the Hilton Downtown for cocktails, dinner, and an award presentation by Neil Orne to the 2016 Nashvillian of the Year Ellen Lehman. The Nashvillian of the Year is an individual with proven success in the Nashville business community, and one who demonstrates not only an entrepreneurial spirit, but also a generous nature by giving back to the community in a variety of areas. This person is a true leader who is working to pave the way for a positive future for all Nashvillians.
Of the past recipients including Marty Dickens, John Ingram, Stephanie Ingram, Aubrey Harwell, they unanimously chose Ellen Lehmanfounder and President of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Lehman has been serving Nashville by realizing and identifying those in our community with great hearts and great wealth who can support fellow citizens through charitable means. Ellen's efforts and work have enabled tens of thousands of Middle Tennesseans to receive direct services and financial aid, resulting in a brighter future for them.
Unique this year, is that Ellen and her father, Richard Eskind (who was chosen as a Nashvillian in the 1990s,) are the first family to ever have two Nashvillians as members in one family.
