
Music with a Mission















Celebrities and guests gathered for the Meet and Greet and post event reception at the recent second Music with a Mission 2012 benefit, hosted by Restless Heart and the Grammy-award winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville to benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission. The event raised over $140,000 to meet the extensive needs of the hungry and homeless in the community.
Entertainers donating their talent and time to make the event a success included Amy Grant, Grammy and Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian music artist; Branford Marsalis, legendary Grammy Award winning saxophonist and Tony Award nominee composer, with Joey Calderazzo, jazz pianist; Ricky Skaggs, Grammy Award winning recording artist; Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Grammy Award winning country music legends; Tracy Lawrence, country recording artist; The Booth Brothers, southern gospel trio; Alison Brown, virtuoso banjo player and guitarist; and Karyn Williams, contemporary Christian music artist. The Nashville Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Jim Gray, with WSM Morning Show host Bill Cody and WSMV-TV anchor Demetria Kalodimos as masters of ceremonies.
