Celebrating its 16th year, Jazzmania is the major fundraiser for the Nashville Jazz Workshop, a community of jazz musicians, fans, students and lovers of the variety of music the city has to offer. One of the evening's highlights was the presentation of the Workshop's Heritage award, given to Chester Thompson, former drummer for Genesis. Thompson has promoted excellence in jazz and has contributed to the rich legacy of jazz in Nashville with his legacy of advocating, teaching, and performing.
The event raises funds to support the operation of the Nashville Jazz Workshop, including classes, performances, and community outreach activities for youth, seniors, and the entire community.
