Event Description

The second annual M Street Chef Week is coming April 24–30, 2017: A week-long showcase of the Executive Chefs unveiling their seasonal menu innovations in collaboration with artists from M Street's Artist Alliance. The blend of artistry and culinary innovation can be experienced across all M Street restaurants throughout the week, as well as exclusive, avant-garde ticketed dinners for further immersion at Moto, Kayne Prime, and Virago.

SAINT AÑEJO / WHISKEY KITCHEN / tavern: EDIBLE ART

Monday, April 24 at 6 p.m.
Featuring Executive Chefs Jason Slimak, Jay Flatley, Shane Midnight, and M Street's Artist Alliance with a special showcase by designer Derrick Castle.

Tucked away in privacy, Saint Añejo's upstairs Mezzanine transforms into an art gallery with culinary displays of new menu innovations interwoven amongst graffiti art, murals, and airbrush designs.  


MOTO: INTERACTIVE ILLUSION

Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m.

Executive Chef Brandon Chavannes, fashion deisgner Denise Roxenstone, and visual artist Brandon Donahue

Executive Chef Brandon, Airbrush Artist Brandon Donahue, and Fashion Designer Denise Roxenstone join forces to create an interactive, progressive activation where table design becomes part of the culinary display with orchestrated surprises of illusion for guest engagement throughout the dining experience. 
 

KAYNE PRIME: AN ORCHESTRATED COLLISION

 Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m.

Executive Chefs Steven Chandler, Graffiti artist Nathan Brown, visual artist Chris Zidek, woodworker Patrick Hayes, and videographer Michael Sati

All art has similar motions, yet results in limitless differentiation. Chef Steven Chandler and Visual Artists Nathan Brown, Chris Zidek, Patrick Hayes, and Michael Sati demonstrate how the creative process sublimates into culinary artistry. From ballet to woodwork, artistic integrations become woven into every element of this culinary journey as the story unfolds.

VIRAGO: OUTSIDE THE BOX

Thursday, April 27, Friday, April 28, Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m.

Executive Chef Andrew Whitney, pinstriper Igor Acord, visual artist Brian Wooden

Drawing upon artist's innate inclination to think "outside the box," Chef Andrew and Artists Igor Acord and Brian Wooden co-produce this cubism-inspired dining activation. With elements of pin striping and graffiti art, Virago's Lotus Room converts into an artist's studio, where edible art is revealed throughout the dining experience for guests to discover and further engage.
