Everywhere you look something new is happening in Nashville. Like a local Monopoly board, houses and hotels are blooming in every neighbhorhood. Being on the inside of all the action, we rarely get the chance to see our city from a newbie's perspective, so we tapped recent transplants from the folk/rock band, Seryn, to get their take on what new Nashvillians need to know. Their tips aren't just for musicians, but a mini-survival guide to all who venture to town to visit or take root.
Seryn's Tips for New Nashvillians:
1) First thing? Prince's has the most flavor and it gives you weird dreams.
2) Don't even think about driving between 4-6 p.m.
3) Also? Lots of people are wearing hats, so far nobody has been able to stop them.
4) You are always going to have to clarify if you are going to M.L. Rose or The Melrose. Both of them rule.
5) You can go to The Basement any night for good music, not on Broadway.
A mix of traditional instruments and rich harmonies from Denton, Texasthe six-piece group moved to Nashville in late 2014 and recently celebrated the release of their second studio album, Shadow Shows, at the Mercy Lounge in February to a full house and three encores.
