Toyota Thunder on the Cumberland

• Toyota Thunder on the Cumberland is part of the NGK F1 Series Powerboat Championship circuit and features some of the fastest boats in the world. These boats race in three-mile loop on the Cumberland River. Enjoy this free family event from the banks of the river at Riverfront Park—a day of racing, food trucks, beverages, and family fun in the heart of downtown Nashville.

Nissan Taste of Music City

One of Nashville’s largest food and drink festivals is celebrating 16 years at Public Square Park on June 16! The Nissan Taste of Music City is an all-inclusive food tasting event with a one-price admission. Attendees have the opportunity to take a “Tour of Nashville” and enjoy tastings from popular Nashville neighborhood’s best local restaurants,along with some of Nashville’s local beverage flavors.

Cracking Art

• Cheekwood’s newest installation opens on Saturday, June 16. Cracking Art is a Milan, Italy-based artist collective born out of the intention to radically change the history of art by investigating the relationship between natural and artificial reality. By using 100% recycled plastic materials, Cracking Art creates site-specific installations using large-scale, natural animal forms made of synthetic materials, playfully arranging meerkats, bears, crocodiles, birds, and other animals in surprising invasions of familiar landscapes.

Nick Cave: Feat.

• See Nick Cave: Feat. at the Frist Art Museum before it leaves on June 29! Nick Cave’s creations, bursting with color and texture, are optical delights that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. A deeper look reveals that they speak to issues surrounding identity and social justice, specifically race, gun violence, and civic responsibility.

• Chef Matt Bolus and the team behind The 404 Kitchen will treat fathers to a very special meal this Father’s Day. The family-style dinner will feature three courses prepared entirely on a Big Green Egg. The Safari Menu will be served communal style and must be enjoyed by the entire table. • Emmy Squared in the Gulch will be running a Father's Day pizza special from June 17 - June 24. The special is going to be called the “Go Dad” and will be sold for $19. The pie is topped with brined chicken covered in BBQ rub, peppers, onions, chopped pickles, crushed peanuts, and Gado Gado sauce.
