Fashion designer Ceri Hoover has been creating premium leather accessories in Nashville since 2013. Through her company, she sources materials from the finest leather purveyors all over the world and, then, employs American artisans to handcraft the classic designs. The aim of her line is to reflect Hoover’s own sense of style, while allowing other women to complement their own. Her theory is simple: Bags are the one fashion item every woman can use to tell her own story.
Hoover’s brand has grown tremendously over the past three years, as she’s gained national attention for her chic women’s accessories. But, this fall, she’s taking another step forward with the launch of both a debut clothing line and a flagship retail store in the 12 South neighborhood. With a full range of her seasonal handbag and shoe collections, as well as what will be a selection of limited-edition clothing pieces, the shop is set to be Nashville’s exclusive vendor of Ceri Hoover designs.
“We’ll open up the storefront with our new [ready-to-wear] fall 2016 collection, and then we’ll quickly introduce [a holiday line],” Hoover says. The white, minimalistic space will mimic her own studio’s design aesthetic, and a team of stylists stationed at the store will give guests a highly specialized and personal boutique shopping experience.
Hoover says her favorite part of being in that particular neighborhood is the fact that it’s become a collection of great, independently owned businesses.
“The space reminds me of a small, intimate boutique that you’d run across somewhere in New York, like Elizabeth Street,” Hoover says. “12 South has that same feeling of closeness between customers and businesses, which I find to be so important.”
