The Impact of Nashville's Fashion Industry

A glimpse of what’s to come for the growing fashion industry in Nashville.

Nashville has the largest concentration of independent fashion companies per capita outside of New York and Los Angeles. And that's not all; the Nashville Fashion Alliance released the findings of a comprehensive economic impact study with a gathering of board members, partners, community participants at Nisolo's showroom. While the NFA has done plenty to grow and connect this city’s fashion industry, the report spells out that impact—and offers a glimpse of what’s to come. Here are four big takeaways from the study.

  2. Fashion in Nashville currently provides 16,200 locals with jobs and contributes $5.9 billion to the local economy.

    By 2025, according to the report, Nashville is looking at the possibility of generating $9.5 billion and 25,000 jobs.

    According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Nashville has the largest concentration of fashion businesses per capita in the United States outside of Los Angeles and New York City.

    Nashville's Fashion Alliance includes 368 members and 132 fashion brands and they are supporting the growth of the local economy and early-stage fashion companies with plans to develop a resource center and a comprehensive accelerator program.
