World Gym Music City
Workout enthusiasts, this one’s for you: global powerhouse World Gym is headed to Nashville. The full-service, 25,000-square-foot space, aptly named World Gym Music City, will occupy the former Music City Auction building after a major renovation this spring.
“We’re putting a lot of love into a pretty old building,” says owner Johnny Wilkins. “It’s taking some time, but we’re thrilled with the vision we have for it.”
At World Gym Music City, you’ll find free weights, cables, and the latest cardio and Selectorized strength machines; plus, you can choose from premium classes like live and virtual indoor cycling, and a new team-training concept called World Gym Athletics (high-intensity interval training, but with Olympic lifting skills and techniques at its core).
Additional amenities include a spin room, locker rooms, and a retail space with supplements, clothing, and grab-and-go items. What’s more, personal training clients will have access to a 3D body scanner to track progress beyond the scale.
“You can’t name a gym after Music City without respecting music,” Wilkins says. With that in mind, World Gym Music City’s sound system will be top-notch, giving DJs and live performers a chance to showcase their strengths—musical and otherwise. 114 George L.
