When you pair a creative team of stylists with some knockout models and an incredible historical space, the result is sheer glamour. We chose Kyah Hillis and Annie Sims, who with their combined talents and experience are launching this month a very distinctive personal shopping and styling company—Panache. They plan to focus on a variety of people—concentrating on making the most of wardrobes, suiting them to the body types and lifestyles of real people—for both everyday and special events.
Hillis and Sims put their styling skills to the test when selecting some of the season’s most flattering looks for both day and night here, and they elected to shoot in an environment with a modern, equestrian vibe to showcase the most sophisticated styles for spring.

Panache
We got our name Panache because it's a french word that connotes flair, courage, and flamboyance and upon further research we found out that it literally means "plume". In fact, King Henry the IV of France would wear a white feather in his helmut before he rode into battle and call out "Follow the white plume!" So, we felt it appropriate to call ourselves Panache because we adorn people!
Services include personnal shopping, styling for special events, corporate dressing, music videos and fashion editiorials. While our client base is pretty evenly split between entertainment and personnal shopping, Annie and Kyah get the most excitement shopping for real people who just appreciate having another pair of eyes in their closet, helping them make a personnal statement.
We focus on flattering the body and allowing you to express your unique style thru unexpected accessories and fabrics
Our process: For personnal shopping/wardrobing. We sort thru your closet and help decide on the pieces that flatter you and the pieces that are very dated or worn out. We then decide what it is that you need in your closet and set out to hunt for the perfect items. The really fun part happens when we roll in the garment rack full of new clothes and accessories that are suited for your style and shape. We create a personalized boutique in your own home. From there, we try on and create outfits for you and document the new looks so that you can refer to them on those days when you feel like you have "nothing to wear"!
The founding team is Kyah Hillis and Annie Sims. Their official launch is March '09.
Kyah's writes columns for the NL regarding trends and fashion tips and has a background in jewelry design and accessorizing. She loves to find unique sculptural pieces that can update and/or change an outfit completely. Annie's has been in the fashion industry since the age of 13 by way of modeling, so she has been on both sides of the camera. They each bring different dimensions and style to their business which makes them a great team.
If you hire us and are in need of photopraphers or hair and makeup artists, we have team of reccommended photographers and hair mua/hair artists.
On this particular shoot, Wee Seing, photographer, worked with us to create this sophisticated shoot at The Standard Restaurant downtown. The Standard located in the oldest townhouse in Nashville, whch has been renovated to its original glory by Joshua Smith and his family. It was the perfect location to inspire an old world meets modern, equestrian vibe for this photo shoot. Everyone has an old blazer or a white blouse or cocktail dress in their closet that is dying to be worn in a new way. Kyah took a collection of clothes and mixed and matched the accessories to show how you can bring spice to your wardrobe. The mixture of cocktail dresses, boots, chuck taylors, and private school-inspired blazers for this particular shoot came from the feeling of the old home. The purpose of this shoot was to show how you could rework your own closet and wear the same piece different ways. Natali Hettich, our make up/hair artist focused on creating a classic look with a touch of glamour by painting the models lips a deep red and creating soft waves in their hair.
